Alaska Airlines has launched a partnership with local nonprofit travel2change in an effort to connect Hawai‘i travelers with volunteer opportunities.
Founded in 2011, travel2change curates activities for visitors focused on sustainable tourism.
Alaska said it hopes the new partnership will help make these types of experiences easier to find.
“We’ve been sharing the message of malama with our guests, and many of them have been asking us for ways that they can give back to Hawai‘i during their visit,” Daniel Chun, Alaska Airlines’ director of sales, community and public relations – Hawaii, told Pacific Business News. “This partnership with travel2change allows us to connect our guests with fun and enriching activities that will not only provide a new and deeper way for our guests to experience Hawai‘i, but more importantly, will help support our local communities through voluntourism.”
