The County of Maui Mayor’s Office of Innovation & Sustainability (OIS) is thrilled to announce its fourth consecutive monthly Mayor’s Sustainability Speaker Series, featuring Jeff Mikulina, an esteemed community organizer and advocate for sustainability and public policy in Hawai’i. The event will take place on Thursday, May 30, with two addresses scheduled at 12 p.m. and 5 p.m. in the Governor’s Conference Room, located at 2264 Aupuni Street #1 in Wailuku.
Mikulina, renowned for his multi-decade commitment to sustainability and public policy advocacy, will bring his expertise to the forefront in two engaging sessions. The first address at noon, titled “Hawaii’s Sustainability Future: Choice or Chance?”, will delve into the potential of public-private partnerships and the regenerative role of local and state governments in safeguarding our planet.
In the evening forum at 5 p.m., Mikulina will present “Hell, Hope, and How: Postcards from the Future”, offering insights into the current trajectory towards environmental peril, avenues of hope for mitigation, and strategies for achieving climate justice.
