From Pacific Business News:
Last month, Chamber of Commerce Hawaii unveiled its 2030 Blueprint Hawaii. This in-depth report studies where Hawaii has been as a place to do business and what it could become. This effort is already manifesting itself as a legislative agenda, so the time seemed right to catch up with chamber President and CEO Sherry Menor-McNamara.
As she describes it, the report started with some things we all know — Hawaii's historically poor rankings for its business climate, for example, as well as the most restrictive land use regulations in America, and five straight years of net out-migration.
The chamber brought in national consultants, Economic Leadership, then go further and drill down to specifics with Hawaii businesses, focus groups, surveys and more asking what they need to thrive.
